Cecily Engelhart
National (Nonprofit) & Regional: Great Plains (Apprenticeship)
Learning campaign development to support: launching a Native Women led nonprofit and formalizing my apprenticeship with Sicangu artist, Mike Marshall. The nonprofit is the life’s dream of my friend and colleague, Stephanie Gutierrez (Oglala Lakota), and will focus on two initial programs (Indigenous Community Wealth Building & an Indigenous Women’s Fellowship). It will launch in 2021, rolling out a website and social media pages. The parfleche apprenticeship is currently informal, but I’d like to learn to build my outreach for potential support of the work, formalize my parfleche education, and help others learn this artform.
